Welcome to Lisbon!
The first two days of your Portugal adventure begin in the capital city of Lisbon. Join a walking tour, explore the many shops, restaurants, museums and top sights. Later, join Chef Artur at his home for a hands-on cooking experience. Learn how to cook or just take in the chef's suggestions for his favorite Portuguese "petiscos".
Sunsets in Sintra
Enjoy a tasty breakfast before checking out and departing for Sintra and the Cascais Coast. Cascais is the premier holiday destination of the Lisbon coastline and is a traditional and charming Portuguese fishing town with cobbled streets, an imposing fort, fascinating museums, and many lively bars and restaurants. After your tour and lunch you will arrive in Sintra and have the rest of the afternoon and evening to explore.
Day four offers a full day guided tour of Sintra, the famed Pena Palace, Quinta Regaleira, and other notable sites along with free time for your own explorations. Depart the following day for our final home base of Porto - but not before you visit the walled medieval village of Obidos and other charming coastal villages along the way!
The Charming town of Porto!
Situated on the slopes of the Douro River and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site makes this a MUST on your itinerary. Porto is the second-largest city of Portugal with superb views over the river and the world-famous Port Wine Cellars and provides a harmonious synthesis of ancient and contemporary attractions.
Spend four incredible days exploring this region. Become acquainted with Porto as you enjoy a private guided walking tour complete with amazing local foodie stops along the way. Visit a a pasta factory, sample port wine, and get lost in the windy old alleyways.
Day in the Douro Valley
The Douro Valley could easily be called the enchanted valley and is the birthplace of Port wine - which was cultivated in the terraces of the Douro. Spend the day admiring the breathtaking landscapes over the Douro and visit vineyards, towns and some villages. Tune into your personal Portuguese adventure by getting out on a bike, kayak or take a hike to fully immerse yourself in this exquisite area. Have lunch at a vineyard and sample some wines...then cap your day with a river cruise!
We hate goodbyes!
Your last day will be all your own. Take a train to a nearby town, dip into little cafes, have a wine tasting, whatever your heart desires.
Free Time & Adventures
We are not tourists, but rather travelers able to have spontaneous moments of wonder. This trip is perfectly paced to not have you rushing from site to site with no free time to relax or sink into the experience. We’ve built in two free days and plenty of downtime in between. Grab that coffee in the plaza and people watch, shop to your heart’s content, take a nap, enjoy some street food, it’s all welcome here.
